Cogmed Working Memory Training
Computer-based program designed to improve working memory, now known to be a key deficit in many individuals with ADHD. The program is a software-based training and takes only 30-45 minutes every weekday for five weeks. A parent or “training aide” provides support for all sessions and there is a weekly telephone coaching session from a Cogmed certified coach to maximize effects. The software application, called RoboMemo, features a series of 8 rotating exercises. As the child’s skills improve, RoboMemo dynamically increases the level of difficulty.
This program has shown to be equally beneficial for individuals treating their symptoms with medication and for those who do not. We encourage young people who derive benefit from medication to continue their regimen while undergoing training.
